Information Sessions Offered for Paid Trans Leadership Opportunity
CHEYENNE–The Wyoming GSA Network will host a series of information sessions about an upcoming opportunity to serve as a council member of the TRUTH Council, a group consisting of trans youth who seek to create safer communities for transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary individuals. The TRUTH Council will pay successful applicants $100 a month, and will connect them with their peers through monthly conference calls and bi-annual conferences in April and September. All expected travel will be paid for by the TRUTH Council.
The first of the Wyoming GSA Network’s information sessions will occur today, January 19, at 2pm. The second session is Thursday, January 25 at 3:30PM, and the third and final session is Friday, January 26, again at 3:30PM. All sessions take place at the Wyoming Equality office, located at 1603 Capitol Avenue in suite 405 (the Majestic Building) across from the Depot Plaza in downtown Cheyenne. All sessions are informal and will be facilitated by Wyoming Equality GSA Coordinator Jordan Ostrum.
The TRUTH Council is a project of the Transgender Law Center and the GSA Network, of which the Wyoming GSA Network is a member. For more information please see the Facebook event page. Please email JordanO@wyomingequality.org with any questions.
